We at Hofnote give you a brilliant way to practise your aural skills which is tailored to the ABRSM exams. This not only helps you to enter your exam feeling more confident, but it will also reflect in your playing and inform your enjoyment in listening to music throughout your life.
Learn in a fun way without others watching All you need is a computer with Internet access and a set of earphones.
Listen to music just as you would in the exam There is a range of different exercises designed specifically for each grade. These prepare you for the type of questions the examiner might ask.
Learn best by getting instant feedback. You can either ask the site to tell you the answer or enter your answer and let it tell you straight away whether you are right .. .. and then the site will let you hear the music clip again so you can listen out for the right answer, as many times as you need to before going onto the next question.
Use anytime as often as you need to. A single enrolment will let you use the materials as often as you like within a four month period. So if you want to do a little every day, or fit in around a busy timetable of other activities you can.
Check how you are doing by reviewing your score as you go on. You can also let your teacher see how you are doing and then when you get to your lesson they do not have to waste time checking up on things you already are good at, but can go straight onto helping you where you need help.

All this is less than 60p per week! And that is for grade 8. It is less than 30 p per week for grades 1, 2 and 3. Why do we give it away so cheaply? Well we are big softies actually!

As a general rule each enrolment is for one grade and within that enrolment the student has access for up to four months.Enrolment for subsequent grades requires a fresh transaction. For obvious reasons we do not want to encourage students and their teachers to delay enrolment for as long as possible so that they can use the ‘remaining time’ for the next grade as this would lead people to reduce the benefit they are getting for each grade. We would rather encourage enrolment in good time and allowing a full four months use.
So how do you enrol upon a course? There are two ways:
1) You can ask your teacher to enrol you.
That way they will be able to see how you are doing, give you encouragement and help with any areas of difficulty. This is most often the best way to do it because your teacher can help you make good progress and apply your developing skills to the rest of your playing.
If your teacher is already registered with us just ask them. If your teacher is not yet registered then tell them about the site. You can use the link in the menu on the Left Hand side.
This is the message you will be sending them and it will show as coming from your name that you enter on the form:
I have found a great site to practice aural music skills whenever I want. Have a look yourself and see if it hits the right note for you!
2) You can enrol independently of your teacher
Some people prefer to enrol separately to their teacher. To do this you need first to log in as Super teacher
from the home page use the following log in details. (They are also on the home page with the log in boxes)
email address
info@hofnote.co.uk
password
selfenrol
This will take you to Super teacher home page where there is a link on the menu on the left hand side with a link to SELF ENROL. Clicking in this will take you to the enrolment form. Please note that the system will use info@hofnote.co.uk email address also on the Netbanx form if you choose to pay by credit/debit card.
If after enrolling this way you would like your teacher to be able to oversee your progress and guide you, let us know and we can then link you to his/her student list.
It is important that the person completing this enrolment is an adult over 18. So if you are under 18 years old please ask a parent or guardian to do it for you.
